Travelling the world is my dream, but I do not envision myself as a full-time traveller.
The purpose of this blog is to jot down my travel so that I have something to reminisce on and share with friends. It is a lifelong passion project of mine and doubles as a way for me to practise writing.
I am not into touristy places, mega-malls or picture-perfect summer beaches; rather, I am into nature – the mountains, the sea, and life in the countryside.
I try to go the unbeaten path, and I like to travel as a pair. Solo-travelling does not work well for me as I enjoy sharing real-time experiences with someone.
My life as a traveller began as a student in 2014.
I was on a 5-month university exchange at Innsbruck, Austria and took the opportunity to travel to Western Europe extensively while on a shoestring budget.
That blessed episode was a life-changing moment and affected how I perceive life.
I began my career soon after but continued to explore the world as much as my annual leaves, the weekends, and my wallet permitted.
It was then that I started hiking. And later, diving.
Fast forward to Dec 2019: I left my comfortable workplace and a stable income to visit New Zealand on a Working Holiday visa, intending to learn more about the primary agriculture industry and experience life overseas from scratch.
That chapter lasted for two years due to the pandemic.
I am now back in Singapore.
